Jeffrey Brewer

Jeff has been a percussion/drumset instructor since 1991. In his career he has taught over 800 private students of all ages and experience levels in all areas of percussion. Many of his former students are now active band directors in various school systems and working local professional musicians in Las Vegas.
Versatile in multiple areas of drumset, concert percussion, keyboard percussion and world percussion/hand drumming, he teaches and plays all proficiently. He has taught at the Preparatory School for the Performing Arts in Flagstaff, AZ and for Family Music, the largest private music academy in Southwestern U.S., since 1996. Jeff currently is the Director of Education for a music academy of 1200 students and 62 instructors, which he oversees and has built from 30 students over a prestigious career of 20 years.
He has coached the Las Vegas Youth Orchestra percussionists and has worked in the Clark County School District (Las Vegas, Nevada) as a para-professional percussion teacher. He was the former Percussion Specialist at Del Sol Academy of the Performing Arts, running all percussion activities such as Marching Drumline, Concert Percussion and Percussion Ensembles. Mr. Brewer has been sought after as a clinician in the public schools and is well-known as a private educator among many local band directors in both the Las Vegas and the South Florida areas. He contributed the percussion section writing for the band method book, Make It Happen, by Raine Elison (locally published Las Vegas).
He holds both a Bachelor's Degree in Percussion Performance (Northern Arizona University) and a Master's Degree in Percussion Performance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He has performed with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra, NAU Repertoire Theatre (Broadway musicals - drumset), Nevada Symphony, Las Vegas Philharmonic, UNLV Orchestra, UNLV Wind Symphony and the Henderson Civic Symphony.
