Collin Holloway

Guitarist Collin Holloway began playing at the age of nine in his hometown of Oklahoma City. His passion for the instrument and natural talent were cultivated by Matthew Denman who acted as a teacher and mentor to Collin during his adolescence. As a student at the Classen SAS performing arts middle/high school, he was the first student in school history to reach the highest level of the guitar department at only 12 years old. Before departing for college, Collin gave his first solo recital to an audience of 150 that was met with two standing ovations.

Collin's performing experience is extensive for a guitarist of his age. He has toured across much of America and Spain as a soloist and as a part of various ensembles in festivals such as “Austin City Limits”, “CHAMBERart Madrid”, the “Celedonio Romero Guitar institute”, in addition to a recent solo tour of Oklahoma and Florida.

Highlights of his promising career include winning the Oklahoma Haire Solo Guitar Competition, two consecutive first place finishes at the National Brownsville Guitar Duet Competition, as well as the award of being selected to perform at a hall in Orlando, Florida as one of four “rising young artists”. Most recently, Collin traveled to Vercelli, Italy where he spent a week studying privately with the renowned guitarist, composer, and musicologist Angelo Gilardino.

After completion of his secondary schooling, Collin went on to further develop his talent at the Eastman School of Music where he studied under Nicholas Goluses and Thomas Viloteau. Immediately after graduating from Eastman with a Bachelor of Music degree in 2019, he was offered a teaching assistantship at the University of Kentucky College of Fine Arts, where he also received his Master of Music degree in May of 2021. A week after graduating, he recorded his debut album, “A Musical Portrait”, which will be released in December of this year.
