Juan Upegui

Piano Instructor

Juan Upegui is a Colombian-born classical pianist with many years of teaching experience. He began private teaching in 2015. He completed his Associate degree at Indian River State College in 2017 where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. During his studies here, he was a Fine Arts Scholarship Recipient and on the Dean's List. He also studied under the tutelage of Irena Kofman at Florida Atlantic University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance And Pedagogy, Summa Cum Laude, in 2020.

Mr. Upegui was awarded The National Society of Arts and Letters Scholarship. He has also studied at the Accademia Tito Schipa in Rome, Italy. Among his other teachers are renowned pianists such as Adam Aleksander and Margarita Shevchenko with whom he studied for two years. He has also participated in different piano festivals in the U.S. and in other countries, attending masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Rene Lecuona, Orion Weiss, and Paulina Zamora.
