Stefan Bernhard was born to a family of musicians in New Orleans, Louisiana and started piano studies at age 5.
He has been teaching students of all ages and skill levels for over a decade, with many winning top prizes in local and national competitions. He has also served as Music Consultant for FX’s television program American Horror Story: Coven, and blogger for the 24th New Orleans International Piano Competition.
He received his BFA Cum Laude in Piano Performance at Tulane University, and continued his postgraduate studies at London’s internationally acclaimed Royal College of Music. Throughout his studies, he has participated in master classes of some of the world’s leading pianists, including Vladimir Krainev and Seymour Bernstein. Stefan performed extensively in solo, chamber, and concerto settings throughout the US, Italy, and the United Kingdom, and was awarded numerous scholarships, honors, and top prizes in international competitions. Locally, he has performed at University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, and the Adrienne Arsht Center in Downtown Miami.
Stefan takes a holistic approach to teaching which includes theory, ear training, music history, and intense technical development.
